How to reach Valfurva

 

Valfurva is a town in the province of Sondrio, located less than 3 km from Bormio. 
NOTE: We would like to inform you that in recent days, Google Maps has been providing incorrect information regarding the shortest or most convenient public transport routes to reach Valfurva. We recommend following the instructions provided below.  

 

By car:

 

To reach it by car from Milan or locations west of Milan, it is recommended to take the SS 36 del Lago di Como e dello Spluga and then continue on the SS 38 dello Stelvio after Colico. 
 For those coming from Brescia or locations east of Brescia, it is advised to take the SS 42 del Tonale e della Mendola to Edolo, then proceed on the SS 39 del Passo di Aprica towards Tirano, and finally join the SS 38 dello Stelvio.

   Car rental:

A car can be rented near the train stations in Tirano, Sondrio or Milan.
 If arriving by plane at Malpensa, Linate, or Orio al Serio airports, it is recommended to rent the car directly at the airport. 

 

By train:

 

The nearest railway station to Valfurva is Tirano. 
If you are traveling from Milan or locations west of Milan, we recommend taking the Milan - Lecco - Colico - Sondrio - Tirano railway line. 
For those coming from Brescia or locations east of Brescia, take the train to Edolo (Brescia-Edolo line) and then continue to Tirano via A061 bus lines. 
Once in Tirano, you can reach Valfurva by taking the following bus routes: A70 Tirano - Bormio and then A73 Bormio - Valfurva.

 

By bus:

 

 
From Tirano railway station, you can take the A70 bus line from Tirano to Bormio, followed by the A73 bus line from Bormio to Valfurva. To check the schedules, you can use the following portal: busperego.com
For the Residence Ables the closest stop of the A73 bus is the  "Valfurva, S.Nicolo', SS300 fr. Scuole" while for Albergo Castello the closest one is " Valfurva, S.Antonio, SS300/S.Gottardo".
